Hula Halau `O Kawailehua finds it's roots on the windward side of O`ahu in Kane`ohe. Our Halau opened it's doors in September of 2009. What started simply as a few families coming together to learn hula our `Ohana has grown much over the years.

Our name finds it's roots from the grandfather of our Kumu, his name was Louis Kalehua Cazimero. Kawai, or the water was a great neccesitity to the Hawaiian People. Lehua, is a flower found mainly on Hawai`i Island. Kawailehua is meant to represent the water or offspring of the Lehua.

Our Kumu has been involved in the Hawaiian Community his entire life. From participating with OHA, Na Pua No`eau, Aloha Festivals and others. His quest into Hula took him through the Kanaka`ole Ohana, Kumu Kale Pawai and Na Pua Mai Ka Lani, Kumu Keola Kalani and Auane`i a Kunihinihi, and his Uniki was completed with J. Kimo Alama Keaulana of Lei Hulu Hula School.
